Martini Glass Winner to Be Announced!
October 15, 2010
One of Bright’s glasses is a finalist in the Martini Glass Competition! My glass, The Volcano, is one of three finalists.
As a finalist, I got to watch Bill and Chris, two of the artists and the Pittsburgh Glass Center, make some prototype glasses. I had a great time and got to meet Rick Sebak. The competition will be featured on his new WQED show ‘It’s Pittsburgh & a Lot of Other Stuff.” It will be on Wednesdays at 7:30pm, starting in November.
Winners will be announced tonight at the Art on Fire 10 Celebration.

Hey. I got to meet Tom Kubilius too! I think the volcano glass could still work. And maybe the base could be a dish that would hold a popsicle-like cone (like making your base out of ice instead of glass) that would melt as the evening went on! Your drink would stay cold, and there’d be a limit of sorts imposed by the rate of melting.
